Daniel M. Logan

Experience and Background

Dan has represented institutional lenders, investors, and developers in a variety of commercial mortgage finance, structured finance, and mezzanine finance transactions. His practice has included representing loan participants, construction lenders and permanent lenders, as well as equity investors in joint venture transactions. He has also represented sellers, purchasers, contractors, architects, engineers, tenants, and landlords in real estate development, acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing of all property types.

Dan handles a variety of real estate and business related litigation matters, including title insurance claims. His client representation includes loan servicers in transactions and litigation involving post-closing debt restructuring, modifications and workouts, as well as foreclosures and deeds-in-lieu of foreclosure for a variety of distressed projects.

Dan previously worked in the Finance and Real Estate practice group of the international law firm Dechert LLP.

In addition to his real estate practice, Dan has significant experience in a broad spectrum of immigration matters ranging from family-sponsored petitions and business visa applications to representation in defense of removal proceedings. He also assisted on successful appeals reviewed by the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

Education and Activities

Dan is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross (B.A.), where he served as a Captain of the Men's Ice Hockey team and earned his J.D. (magna cum laude) from Western New England College School of Law, where he was a member of the executive board of the Western New England Law Review.

As an undergraduate at Holy Cross, Dan was a four-year starter on the Men’s Varsity Ice Hockey team and played in every game during his career. He was named a Captain during his junior and senior seasons.

Bar Admissions and Associations

Dan is admitted to practice in the State of Connecticut and the U.S. District Court for the State of Connecticut. Dan is a member of the American Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association, and the Real Estate Finance Association of Connecticut. He is currently a contributing editor for the American Bar Association Model Real Estate Development Limited Liability Company Agreement. Dan has been a lecturer for the Connecticut Bar Association seminar program on Title Insurance topics. He is also on the Zoning Board of Appeals for the Town of Wethersfield.

Personal

Dan lives in Connecticut with his wife and three children. He serves as a volunteer youth soccer and hockey coach.
